In November 2011 the department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) published a list of frontrunner groups that would lead the way in terms of creating the first waves of Neighbourhood Plans. A link to this list can be found below.

In 2011 CLG invited local planning authorities to apply for grants under the Neighbourhood Planning Front Runners scheme. The deadline for applications was Friday 4th November 2011 and CLG have since published a list of successful applicants. This list has in turn been split into 4 'waves' with the first wave already underway. There is likely to be a fifth wave announced shortly.

As members of this first wave go live, myneighbourhoodplans will publish maps showing the geographical extents of the relevant groups' responsibilities. We will do the same for each subsequent wave. Furthermore we will, in time, introduce a simple, interactive 'find your nearest' service.

A list of the frontrunners can be found on the CLG website. A map of the frontrunners can be found here.
